My 100th Post-- And a Giveaway

There has been a lot more bread baking here this week. I've tackled, and conquered (I like to think) the following: boule, ciabiatta and now, the baguette. Within the past week I've made at least three batches of bread, which means 12 loaves. Wow.
This is my official 100th blog entry. A huge feat, considering my early opinions of blogs. Was my life blogworthy? Would people stop in for a quick hello regularly? Would I be able to continue blogging regularly? The answer is yes, all around. With the blog and the blogging community I've found a new niche for myself as a stay-at-home mom, a crafter, a woman, a photographer and citizen of this world. I've truly enjoyed my early morning time or into the wee hours of the night when my wee ones are sleeping, catching up on our daily outings and activities, reading all about my fellow bloggers' lives and habits, children and cheese.

To thank my loyal and occasional readers, I'm offering my first official giveaway. Unfortunately, due to the perishable nature of my prize, the winners will have to be local. Out of towners, don't fret, I'll have another item for a giveaway soon. So, if you're local, here's the deal: Post a comment here within the next week. You don't even have to log on and get your own blogger account, just be anonymous but sign your name. Answer the following question: What do you love about the fall?

The prize? Your choice of a fresh ball of my homemade mozzarella or a piping hot loaf of boule, ciabiatta or baguette. I'll even deliver it to your door, ready for your dinner. In your comment, make sure to let me know your preference. I'll put your names in a hat, mix 'em up, and Carl and Gus will choose the winner. Let the baking or cheese making begin! To 100 more posts!

Oh, to be local :(

My favorite thing about fall might be the crisp air or the feeling of new beginnings. Plus, October being my birthmonth helps make it all feel extra special! I also loved colorful leaves, but I no longer get to experience that with regularity.

Wow 100 posts that is impressive, Congrats! What a fun idea with the give away. I'm amazed about the whole cheese making thing! Very impressive. As for my favorite fall thing it has to be the crispness and smell of the air and getting out the fall sweaters! Love the colors too but they don't last long enough. I would love to try your bread if we are lucky enough to be the winners! I LOVE BREAD. I grew up in a family where my Dad brought home fresh bread for dinner every night from whichever backery he was trying out that day. Yum!

This is the first time I have ever posted on a blog, but your bread looks so yummy I had to! I love everything about fall, the colors, pumpkins, bread and soup, "settling in" for the winter, apple orchards, and walks in crunchy leaves. It is my absolute favorite time and it goes too fast! Your bread looks amazing and I can't wait to try that and some cheese soon. Thanks for the inspiration. Melanie

I love fall because it's time to begin to hunker down to projects that have been put on hold for summer. Changing seasons is great! And I love fall foods, too...especially bread, hot from the oven. Hope it's me!! love, MOM

I love fall because it means that it's time to break out my light blue windbreaker again. Love, Aunt Elda

Well, out here in Virginia, I would have to say that the thing I love best about fall is that the humidity finally goes away... sort of! :) I can finally run outside without fear of passing out! I am truly a Minnesota Girl lost out here in the humid east!

The bread looks great and I wish that I could be there to test it out!

Take care!

Voting and then celebrating democracy by getting pumpkin ice cream with my wife.

The challenge of trying to use an entire enormous pumpkin: pancakes, bread, curries, pies, bars, roasted and baked and pureed,

full tuber baskets and guest books where people write thank you thank you thank you.

The sound of leaves crunching under my bicycle tires.

Falling in love (for the second of who knows how many times....) while rolling down a hill into a pile of leaves

Funny, fall is only memories now to this tropical girl.

As long as I get to try some of your bread (the cheese was divine), I'm postin'!

Fall is amazing with the changing leaves and weather. So many things to do without trying to beat the heat!
Now that the kids are old enough to kinda "get it," they point out the red, orange and yellow leaves every chance they get. "Mom, see that? That tree is totally red. Did you see that? That's cool!"
They still don't understand how I make them wear jackets in the morning and let them wear shoes w/out socks and even shorts in the afternoon!

Jenn,
This is Kerri - Gretchen's co-worker/friend that you made soap with - love your blog! I've been meaning to try and make my own mozzarella since I read Animal, Vegetable, Miracle - your blog is good inspiration for me to go ahead and try! What I love most about fall is being able to wear jeans and sweatshirts again and have a fire in the fireplace on a crisp, cool day. I also love baking during the fall - apple pie and anything with pumpkin.

Congrats on 100 posts!
Kerri

I think that the "Camembert goodness" looks fantastic! WoW! You really keep yourself busy.
My favorite things about fall are the bright leaves rustling in the trees on a cool morning, the warm hues that show up everywhere, and the smell of apples in everything!
