Joining the party

I'm joining the party. The Ultimate Blog Party. We'll see what this is all about. I'm looking forward to checking out new blogs, having my blog read by new readers and learning more about how to do fancy bloggy things.

Are there any other crafty-mama, wanna-be farm girls out there living in the city (or in the country already)? Anyone else get a kick out of goats? Chickens? City living? Urban gardening? Sewing? Crafts with kids? Cooking? Drop me a line, leave me a comment.

I'm especially looking for tips on how to add to my blog. I like it ok now, but would really like to get to the bottom of it all. What are the measurements of the top banner so I can create one that really fits? How can I make my turtle cake tutorial picture turn into a link? How can I make it funkier, like How About Orange. Or cool fonts like Layer Cake Films. I really want a banner that fits like this one, this one or this one.

So... welcome to my blog. Glad to meet you. Si tu hablas espanol, podriamos hablar aqui. Mais si tu parle francais, moi aussi. On peut parler dans les trois langues. Or just in English if you please.

I think I'm supposed to include which of the prizes I would dig the most, if I were to win. Here goes. I feel like a kid with the Sears catalog in the 70's. (Don't tell me you didn't spend hours looking at all the toys, just wishing wishing wishing that 'Santa' would bring you all the things you marked.) Here goes:

7. Bead Dangle Necklace

18. Wrap-n-Mat

19. Kleen Kanteen sippy

20. Certificate to Paperlicious

37. Moby

24. Blog Design

45. Custom Blog Design

62. Bilingual Spanish system

103. Pink Legos

124. Rachel Ray cookbook

137. Sippy Sampler

And here's me, in my latest vintage find. Found the dress AND the shoes (in a size 11, that's rare) at a thrift shop that was having a 50 % off every thing sale. ) I'm having a party! (Actually, on my way to a wedding.)

The dress is gorgeous.

Chickens scare me unless they are, you know, Kentucky fried or whatever.

I am a farm girl at heart TOTALLY. I don't so much live in the city, but I do live in a small town. I grew up on a farm so farm life will forever and always be in my blood. I still love gardening . . . I'd still make it a hobby even if I lived in a skyscraper :) Love animals and just love anything and everything about the outdoors. Hope you stop by my place!

hi i'm visiting you again... you asked which languages i speak, well i used to be quite conversational in spanish, but due to lack of use, i'm forgetting sooo much. and i have been to romania a few times, not that i ever got even all that proficient in the language, it made me really appreciate the romance languages, so i think french is on the agenda. anyway, i'm so glad you stopped by and that we have things in common! i'll definitely be keeping up w/ your blog!! have a great rest of the blog party!

Now that I have seen your bookshelf, we must be friends! I moved from a big city out to the country a few years ago. We still live "in town" but have planted up every inch of our little yard! If I could figure out how to not get caught by my neighbor the town council member, I'd have a goat, a cow, sheep and mostly...CHICKENS!! I am fortunate to have made friends out here with folks who have that kind of farmy stuff and farms! All that AND we have the same shoe size :-))))) AND I want to start a blog, but can't figure out how to do all the stuff!!

What a fun place you have here! I look forward to getting to know you better :)

We don't live on a farm, per se, but my OH does raise chickens and rabbits--the set-up is all a little funny in southern Italy where people have little chunks of land all around the outskirts of the village.

Anyway, come and visit my party when you get a chance:

Crafty. knit, crochet, sew, dry flowers, cook (that is a craft. is it not?), eat (well it should be a craft) and try to juggle life.

Enjoy the country life.

I lost some sanity helping to kill chickens. Hated the uninvited guests (spiders and bugs and a snake, I think it was after a mouse that destroyed lots. ONE little mouse - one) So back to the city for me.

The birds in the photo sure look like wild turkey to me, you must have a few in your area.
